Château André Ziltener

Chambolle-Musigny

Here’s another classy address amid the famous vineyards of Burgundy. The wine house of André Ziltener is at Chambolle Musigny, and has prestigious neighbours such as Vougeot, Gevrey Chambertin and Vosne Romanée.

This château is more an extremely elegant country house with authentic art on the walls, antiques and marble bathrooms. The interior is Louis XV, both elegant and comfortable; there is a lovely garden and attentive, but not overly attentive, service.

Amid the peace of the Burgundy countryside, who could ask for more? Breakfast only is served leaving you to explore the many good restaurants nearby.

The château is built on the foundations of a Cistercian abbey and wine tastings are held in the cellar, with a little museum in the old vaults. Surrounded by vineyards on the Route de Grands Crus you can visit Vougeot and all the great names in Burgundy wine. Both the town of Beaune and Burgundy’s capital Dijon are within easy reach and should not be missed. Dijon is particularly good for a spot of shopping.

Take a drive too up into the hills above Chambolle-
Musigny and soak up the views over the Côte d’Or.

There are three rooms and seven suites from 220€ per night for a double room.
