My love of Burgundy began in the 1980’s
when my husband was working in Vézelay and Beaune. At the time
I was a journalist, on women’s magazines in London. This was followed
by 15 years in Ronda in Southern Spain where I continued to contribute to travel
and lifestyle magazines, but during holiday times, we kept returning
to Burgundy to enjoy the contrast of the verdant countryside, the food
and wine of course, the rivers and lakes, and the cultured, gentle people.
It remains largely unchanged today and I hope that you too will catch our
enthusiasm for this
Bob Chambers trained as a Chef at La Varenne in Paris under Anne Willan. He worked in Burgundy at the Bombard Society before returning to New York as executive chef at L’Oreal and ‘Food and Wine Magazine’. He just has to keep returning to Burgundy for a ‘top-up’ of the food and wine he is so passionate about. Some of his signature recipes can be found in Gourmet Traveller
Marilyn has been involved with the performing arts throughout her career and has directed a variety of arts programmes throughout the UK. She has written plays, musicals and libretti for choral works. Recently two major works have been performed, ‘Waters of Time’ and a BBC Commission, ‘Weaving the Future.’ She finds her home in Burgundy the perfect environment for writing and for exploring her fascination in ancient Celtic cultures. Her present passion is exploring King Arthur in Burgundy.
